Overlooking the Blue Ocean, the stylish C-Bali restaurant is voted one of the best Restaurants in St Michaels on the South Coast of KZN. Not visible from the road, they’re a hidden gem you won’t want to miss. With their chilled beach atmosphere and location on St Michaels on Sea Beachfront, it is no wonder they’re on the list of top KZN South Coast Restaurants. They offer inside and outside seating at tables and even have a beautiful romantic corner with comfy chairs inside and a bar where they make the prettiest signature cocktails. Moreover, you can visit them straight after you visit the beach, even in your flip-flops.
What sets the C-Bali family restaurant apart is its unique and extensive menu. It offers a variety of meals, a large selection of local and imported drinks, and excellent service. The menu ranges from breakfasts and light meals to the good old favourite Crispy Fish and Chips. Meat lovers can choose from their wide selection of steaks, indulge in their tasty curries, and enjoy C-Bali’s gourmet burgers. They also have a choice of pasta, pizzas, and salads. The Münchner Haus is a German restaurant situated in St. Michaels on Sea. It is renowned for its delicious food, exceptional service, and pleasant ambience. Visitors can relish many dishes, such as Eisbein, schnitzels, snails, burgers with chips, and pizza. Additionally, the restaurant provides a remarkable selection of German beer and cider. Whether coming straight from the beach in your flip-flops or just looking for a comfortable place to relax, this is the place.
The Buccaneer Beach Bar’s menu offers a variety of reasonably priced meals as well as daily specials. I highly recommend trying the hot-plate rump steak and fish and chips, which are both delicious. Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club & Restaurant
The Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club is a fantastic seaside Shelly Beach restaurant on KZN South Coast. Besides their relaxed atmosphere and holiday vibe, they offer delicious food with friendly service and are a favourite among locals and tourists.
Visit them anytime from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a delightful breakfast, lunch, or early dinner while enjoying the fresh ocean air and view. In addition to breakfasts with good coffee, the menu offers a variety of tasty foods, such as craft beers and other drinks.
The Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club menu offers something for every taste. I recommend their fish, Calamari, pizza, snack baskets, and delicious skipper salad with Calamari.
Pet-friendly Shelly Beach restaurants in KZN
The establishment is pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry friends. In addition to its mouth-watering dishes, the restaurant boasts a spacious swimming pool overlooking the sea, providing the perfect spot for kids to have fun while you relax. The Shelly Beach restaurant and clubhouse have been around for over 40 years and are the closest to the ocean of all restaurants in Shelly Beach.
Established in 1974 by Mr Sonny Evans, they are beside the sea behind the Shelly Shopping Centre. To locate the restaurant, head to Albert Meyer Drive in Shelly Beach. If you need to contact them, their number is 082 555 6666. Bon appétit!
The Packshed Restaurant
If you’re looking for a unique dining experience, Packshed restaurant is a must-visit. Their a la carte menu features delicious fusion-style dishes from all over the world and freshly prepared Harvest specials.

The Blou Lagoon Restaurant
Located at the Ramsgate Blue Flag Beach beachfront, this restaurant is considered one of the Lower South Coast’s safest and best swimming beaches. The Blue Lagoon Restaurant is open daily for breakfast, and its kitchen closes at 9 PM. It is fully licensed and renowned for serving outstanding seafood in large portions, offering great value for money. You can unwind on the veranda while sipping an ice-cold cocktail and feeling the warm sand beneath your feet.
Besides their wide selection of wines, they serve various dishes, including seafood, steaks, and pizzas. They also offer a Sunday carvery, so reserve your table in advance. The restaurant is pet-friendly for seating on the Deck and downstairs. For reservations, please call +27 039 314 4149.
Tip: Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant experience with our alcohol-free cocktails, so we suggest trying the Shelly Beach restaurants instead of the ones at Blue Lagoon.
The Waffle House Ramsgate
If you’re looking for the best waffles on the South Coast, head to the ocean-front Waffle House restaurant. It’s an excellent spot for a light meal, with indoor and outdoor seating and stunning views of the natural surroundings and Ramsgate Blue Flag Beach. The Waffle House is famous for its family-friendly atmosphere and motto in Ramsgate: “This is where good food and memories are made.” Along with their wide selection of delicious waffles with sweet or savoury toppings, they also serve other dishes and have vegan and gluten-free options. The restaurant has been voted one of the best family-oriented restaurants in Ramsgate.
To get to the Waffle House, if you’re coming from Margate, you’ll find them on your left, just before the bridge in Ramsgate. Turn left to the Ramsgate beach, where there’s ample parking right next to the beach. Then, take a short walk through a beautiful garden along the lagoon to reach the restaurant. The Waffle House is located at Lot 839, Marine Drive, Ramsgate. You only need to make a booking if you want specific seating or are celebrating a special occasion. Open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, contact no. 039 314 9424. Ramsgate is 10 km from Shelly Beach restaurants.
