If you’re travelling from East London and looking for top caravan parks nearby, you’ll find plenty of excellent options. After an incredible RV road trip exploring the Wild Coast and various attractions in the Eastern Cape, I have put together this Guide to Camping Locations in the Eastern Cape. Besides the best Campsites Eastern Cape, this guide will help you discover ideal spots for your next outdoor adventure.

Morgans Bay Camping Eastern Cape
Camping Wild Coast is something you cannot afford to miss. The unspoilt Eastern Cape Paradise of Morgan Bay is located on the Wild Coast of South Africa and the edge of the Inchara Lagoon overlooking the Ocean. Each Morgan Bay, Camping Caravan site features a braai, electric point and separate ablutions. Besides swimming and take long walks along the mile-long sandy beach, check out the best things to do in Morgans Bay.
Cintsa Campsites Eastern Cape
The small village of Chintsa on the Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape province in South Africa. It is situated 38 km north-east from the city of East London and lies at the mouth of the Cintsa River. It’s mild sub-tropical climate throughout the year, make Cintsa one of the favoured beach holiday destinations in South Africa.
Cintsa has always been a favourite fishing spot for local anglers and people from distant places. The vibrant scenery, combined with the thrill of reeling in a catch, makes it an ideal destination for fishing enthusiasts seeking tranquillity and adventure alike.
Besides the wide untouched beaches, but also for excellent fishing.
Rendezvous Caravan Park
The Pet-friendly Rendezvous Caravan Park is one of the most peaceful, safe and secluded campsites near Chintsa Beach. Most of the Cintsa Caravan Park campsites are spacious, with grass and ample shade. Besides the large swimming pool, the Rendezvous Chintsa Resort offers a large play area for children, private ablutions, and a convenience store which sells only the basic stuff.
Attractions and Things to Do in Chintsa
- Inkwenkwezi Private Game Reserve.
- Visit Gonubie Beach and the river mouth.
- The Gonubie Mouth Bird Sanctuary.
- Hiking the Strandloper Trail.
- Wild Coast Haga Haga & Morgans Bay.
- Visit Pet-friendly Cintsa Restaurant.
- Go for walks along the Beach.
The Yellowsands Caravan Park
All the Yellow Sands Caravan Park East London Campsites overlook the Ocean or the Kwelera River mouth. The Grounds offer braai facilities and upgraded ablutions. Check out the Yellow Sands Caravan Park is magnificent in all aspects.
They offer a vast amount of beautiful camping sites, clean ablutions, swimming pools as well as other amenities. Whatever you prefer doing, swimming, sunbathing or just relaxing with a book, this is our favourite spot.
The Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve close by is home to the Big 5, should you want to go on a Game drive. They are also popular for their Sunday Buffet lunch.
Areena Riverside Quays
Situated right on the banks of the Kwelera River, the Areena Quays Restaurant is fully licensed and known for serving tasty meals and hamburgers. With ample shade and stands along the river, amenities include clean ablutions, a pool, and a shop. The wooden deck at the restaurant overlooks the river and is perfect for watching the sunset. For bookings, go to Areena Campsite Eastern Cape.
After spending a few days on the Wild Coast, we drove back to East London from where we continued our Eastern Cape road trip exploring the other Sunshine Coast beaches.

Camping Sites in Port Alfred
Medolino Caravan Park
To camp at the immaculate Medolino campsites, Eastern Cape, is a delight. Each grassed Campsite is privately surrounded by beautiful gardens, lacking nothing. All the Medolino Port Alfred campsites in Eastern Cape are equipped with power points and portable braais. Medolino’s extensive ablutions are among the best on the East Coast and are within walking distance of swimming beaches and other amenities. Check their contact details and Medolino Caravan Park rates.
The Cannon Rocks Holiday Resort
Unusual Cannon Rocks beach, Boknes beach, the Boesmansriver mouth, and Kenton on sea flow seamlessly. The beach at Cannon Rocks is uncommon with its high dunes and black rocks.
Cannon Rocks Camping
Situated only a few hundred meters from the beach, the Cannon Rocks Caravan Park offers 76 wind-protected stands and self-catering accommodations.
Unfortunately, you won’t have a sea view, but their amenities make up for it. Besides the Restaurant, they have a swimming pool, ample clean ablutions, and a shop selling necessities. Cannon Rocks Holiday Resort
The Boknes Caravan Park
The quaint seaside village of Boknes is situated close to Cannon Rocks and Kenton on Sea in the Eastern Cape. I know that the only Boknesstrand Caravan Park is The Voortrekker Campsite, which accommodates only large groups. Read more about the best things to do in Boknesstrand in Our Epic Eastern Cape Journey.
Camping sites in Port Elizabeth
The Willows Resort
We’ve been told that the immaculate The Willows Caravan Park is one of the Best Campsites in the Eastern Cape, and we agree. Besides the most beautiful views, The Willows Caravan Park campsites and chalets have electricity points and clean ablutions. Other amenities include a small shop and a Restaurant on the premises and across the entrance. Moreover, it is as safe as anyone can get, except for some naughty monkeys.
Jeffreys Bay Caravan Park
The only Caravan Park in Jeffreys Bay is in town and belongs to the Municipality. Overlooking the Ocean, no trees or shade offer ample ablution. The only drawback was the high safety fence around the Park. Therefore, our sea view was through a wired fence.
Cape St. Francis Caravan Park
Unfortunately, no Caravan Park exists in St. Francis Bay or Cape St. Francis Camping. Waterberry Park Resort was the closest Campsite, about 7km from town, next to the main road. Although Waterberry Caravan Park boasts luxury en-suites, camps, a pool, and a cafe, we decided to skip the resort. Considering their location, we think their prices are steep and head straight to Oyster Bay, only 22 km away.
Oyster Bay Caravan Park
Despite the lousy weather, camping at Oyster Bay Resort was pleasant. We had our private ablution, and they are pet-friendly. The Oyster Bay Campsite is within walking distance of the beach and a small convenience store. Owners Jeanine and her husband were fantastic and made us feel welcome. The lousy weather was our only downfall at Oyster Bay Campsite’s eastern cape. From Oyster Bay, we continue our road trip along the Eastern Cape to the Garden Route of South Africa.
